Adobe.com.exe. Is this a problem?

I just did a clean re-install of XP Pro SP3 on a new drive. I originally installed Acrobat Reader 9 but uninstalled and went to Reader 8.

There is now an Acrobat.com showing up in my Programs lists. Properties says ""C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat.com\Acrobat.com.exe".

What is this and is it a problem? Thanks.

Seems since he took the time to make you aware of your problem, you could have taken a moment to acknowledge that fact?

From what I could see, Acrobat.com.exe is one of the file names it uses.

I will tell you it is known that out of date versions of Adobe Reader are being exploited by hackers:

Which is why we suggest updating to the newest version for safety and security: http://www.filehippo.com/download_adobe_reader/

Seems the "Before you Post" directions were not read and HJT is not located according to those instructions. Though we probably wil not use HJT, I do suggest you take the time to read the directions and properly locate HJT.

My apologies for not responding to the previous assistance received. The advice seemed to advise immediate action. I had trouble booting back into the old drive so I took the advice and simply pulled the drive and then reloaded onto a new hard drive I purchased.

Once I got back up and running the original post was closed.

HJT is reloaded in the proper location. Did not notice that.

I had lots of problems with Adobe Reader 9 (IE7 crashing, etc). I will try it again, however, I saw quite a few posts about the new version and issues with sp3. I "did do a Google search" and was unsure if what remained after AR9 was removed was a legitimate file or malware. Some Google searches indicated it "could be" and the AR9 Uninstall did not remove Acrobat.com and it did not show up separately in Add & Remove Programs to remove it?

Perhaps after all the previous problems I had I may be a bit paranoid and wanted to be sure my system was clean.

I gather by your response that it is a legitimate file and that I can simply remove it.
