There have been some issues I have found when attempting to install and use Spybot in Windows 98 I wish to share. This was all done on a clean system with Windows 98SE and IE6 SP1 -
1.) The memory management does not appear to be an issue with systems with 512 megs of ram or more.
2.) Without changing any memory settings 1.52 installs and runs fine without updates.
3.) (If) you install all updates without the rootkit updates. It works fine
4.) As soon as rootkit updates are installed the access violations are there again.
5.) Version 1.6 will install but if updates are applied, the the access violations will appear and the program will not run right any longer no matter what you do
