Shuts System Down After It Scans Half Way Thru

When Starting Out, I Look For Up-dates If Any I Proceed To Do It..
Once Done With That I start My Scanning Process. After About Half Way
Thru The Procedure It "SHUTS" My System(Computer) Down.
Could AnyOne Tell Me What The Problem Might Be...Greatly Appreciated..:bigthumb:
