:mad::D:Hello there,
I am not a malware virus removal person although I work in computers so I like to think I can keep up if I am given instructions...however I am struggling here with all the different instructions on different forums. I have tried the Smitfraud in safemode last night but the pest came back and ran Spyware Doctor and AVG with no luck. System Restore was already turned off so that is no help. I have a million suggestions from other forums telling me to download Spybot (of course which I have used in the past and is great), Panda, Adaware, Windows Defender, ATF Cleaner, Killbox, Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, etc. but I dont know where to start or where I am just doing double and triple work. I have already tried all this for 2 days and it keeps coming back. So I am finally coming for help. I am posting the Hijack THis log for startes to see if you can give me some insight on where to start when I get home. Thank you in advance for any help. I also wonder, since this seems to attack exe files, is it even possible to swap out the hard drive for a brand new one and just take the few and I mean very few excel files that are on here worth salvaging and basically just start over? I have all the software on discs that can be reloaded onto a new hard drive? Is that easier than trying to spend all this time to remove this thing? Thanks again!

Your HijackThis is outdated.

Click here (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe) to download HJTInstall.exe
Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
Click on Install.
It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
