Spybot only scans 10 mins for whole system

Hi, I have the default mode selected; not advanced.

I have Vista 32bit, sp 1.

Have Spybot version 1.6.0.30

When I run spybot it only takes 10 minutes to scan and finish.

If I right click on a folder to scan w/spybot takes longer to do a folder, then it's taking to do the whole system.

Last version of spybot I had, scanned well over an hour to do system.

I am not an advanced user; but did check to see if there are drives mentioned in there, and they are not.

How can spybot be scanning my whole sys in 10 minutes?

That's a pretty good and normal scan speed. Scans only take 7 minutes for me. Spybot scans so fast because it uses a different technique to scan. It doesn't scan every file on your hard drive like most other programs, it looks for specific files and registry entries. This results in much faster scans than "full scans" of other programs like Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Version 1.6 of Spybot also scans faster than older versions. The right-click scan function is slow and is really only meant for scanning single files.
