Spybot cannot get to internet even though IE works. I do have spyware. URLs are being redirected.
How do I stop the redirecting and how can I get spybot installed?

Does it work if you download this direct installation file (http://www.spybotupdates.biz/files/spybotsd160.exe)?

No, I downloaded that install file and ran from my C drive. After I answer the select components screen, I get a message that spybot cannot connect to the proxy server at 127.0.0.1.

Try skipping the attempt to update during the installation and update after the installation, making sure that you authorize program SDUpdate.exe to access the internet via your firewall.
