Norton compromised

Hi I anyone could post any advise i would be most grateful. I had Norton installed but my PC started not loading the updates and Norton wouldnt complete a scan fully. I checked within control panel for a health check and it warned that no virus was present. This occured on my desktop just a day after the laptop on network displayed similar symptoms. Wondered if anyone may be good enough to advise. I have put a log from hijackthis below

The log looks ok. Did you uninstall Norton? I can only see Trend Micro Internet Security there.

Yes i did uniinstall Norton and replace with a trial Trend Micro for 30 days. I planned to reinstall within 30 days if so other issues occur. Would you say this is probably the best thing to do?

I recommend replacing Trend Micro trial with free antivirus and firewall.

Good free antivirus programs are:

Avast!


For firewall I recommend either Online Armor Free or Comodo Firewall Pro (If you choose Comodo: Uncheck during installation "Install Comodo SafeSurf..", Make Comodo my default search provider" and "Make Comodo Search my homepage" and install firewall ONLY!).
