Help please

This week my desktop has started to act strangely ,some windows sometimes open with parts missing ,and some not at all ,saying file not found,and on the task bar there are parts not drawn.

the only thing I can think of is that my son said he changed something last week in the regestry so that he could run two instances of a certain game - AuraRose Online.

oh and ive just tried to bring up help from start and that and a few other things are missing.

Please help. I tried a system restore.
