My browser is popping up a bunch of random sites, like officialiqquiz.com and en.personalantispy.com. Other in-site popups appear to be javascript driven and show a "virus scanner" warning me I'm infected.
In addition to the popups, a red (X) is in my system tray purporting to offer Antispyware XP 2009.
I figured that I'd get a head start and post my HijackThis log, but after downloading and installing HJT, it won't launch. I'm also unable to launch Spybot S&D.
Other than the above described issues and intermittent events being caught by the TeaTimer, my system is behaving fairly normally. I'm wondering if there's a special way to get HijackThis to launch so that I can clean this up.

I found another post that recommended renaming the HijackThis.exe file to "jimmy.exe" or "jimmy.com". That finally worked after I moved the file to a different directory.
