The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Awola.Anti-Spyware" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Awola.Anti-Spyware is a rogue anti-spyware software that shows fabricated threats to urge the user to pay for removal. The threats found cannot be reviewed in detail. Awola hides what is being found and classifies these as a highly critical threat.

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
Entries named "Microsoft Windows Adapter 5.1.3214" and pointing to "*".
Entries named "Awola6" and pointing to "*".
Entries named "Awola" and pointing to "*<$APPDATA>\Awola\Awola.exe*".
Files:
Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
The file at "<$COMMONSTARTUP>\msn_0803_upd041807.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\tmp0.exe".
The file at "<$APPDATA>\Awola\Awola.exe".
The file at "<$APPDATA>\Awola\Awola001.bas".
The file at "<$APPDATA>\Awola\settings.ini".
The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Awola\Awola Anti-Spyware 6.0.lnk".
The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Awola\Uninstall Awola Anti-Spyware 6.0.lnk".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Awola.Anti-Spyware uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!
