The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "ABetterInternet.Aurora" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "ToolbarInstall".
Entries named "vidctrl" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\vidctrl\vidctrl.exe".

Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) or RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) to locate and get rid of these entries.

Products that have a key or property named "{8A0DCBDA-6E20-489C-9041-C1E8A0352E75}".

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$SYSDIR>\DrPMon.dll".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\stubinstaller5975.exe".
The file at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\vidctrl\vidctrl.inf".
The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMFILES>\Uninstall Information\RemoveDisplayUtility.exe".
The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\180sainstallernusac.exe".
The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\bundle_mediamotor1004.exe".
The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\hoo87.tmp".
The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\mit5.tmp".

A file with an unknown location named "svcproc.exe".
A file with an unknown location named "Nail.exe".
A file with an unknown location named "Nail.exe".
A file with an unknown location named "Nail.exe".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If ABetterInternet.Aurora uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

The directory at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\JAA".
The directory at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\FAR".
The directory at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\LIO".
The directory at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\SQT".

Delete the registry key "Mvu" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
Delete the registry key "{8A0DCBDA-6E20-489C-9041-C1E8A0352E75}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{9A9C9B68-F908-4AAB-8D0C-10EA8997F37E}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{F8310E7D-4C4D-46A4-A068-B5BB99411CC7}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "motoin" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
Delete the registry key "Mvu" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
Delete the registry key "RelatedPageInstall" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
Delete the registry key "vidctrl" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
Delete the registry key "AuroraHandler" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "AuroraHandlerDll.AuroraHandlerDllObj", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "AuroraHandlerDll.AuroraHandlerDllObj.1", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "{4AA870AC-8427-42a4-B92E-ECD956197489}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{544B6A3F-4024-4403-9661-69B8410BE505}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{6D992911-B563-47FC-AB29-437F42D1C729}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "{4AA870AC-8427-42a4-B92E-ECD956197489}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
Remove "<$WINDIR>\nail.exe" from registry value "Shell" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\".
Delete the registry key "_rtneg3" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
Delete the registry key "{018C5406-AEE6-4A68-980F-2CEB1E9416FB}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{0A7FC040-F84A-4AD7-9439-798B6C0F861E}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{32A9D21F-F510-44DC-9EA6-0456EDA04668}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{4562B6F3-DAF8-464E-87B7-5464575F0D6A}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{C93CC79D-02D5-45B0-BE39-7F5B0E5DDA31}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{DA4B919F-B757-4E32-8D79-DEC5C2704C4B}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
