The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "ClimaxBucks.InternetOptimizer" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Optimize.exe copies itself to c:\internet optimizer and/or the corresponding bootdrive. It also adds itself to system startup and runs in background with one visible process in taskmanager and one invisible process.
The file restarts itself if it is disabled. It may prevent other software from working properly. The uninstall routine does not work.

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "Internet Optimizer".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "c:\Internet Optimizer\optimize.exe".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\..\Internet Optimizer\optimize.exe".
A file with an unknown location named "optimize.exe".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\MulDist.inf".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\MulDist.ocx".
A file with an unknown location named "MultiDistFC.CAB".
A file with an unknown location named "MulDist.inf".
A file with an unknown location named "MulDist.ocx".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If ClimaxBucks.InternetOptimizer uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

The directory at "c:\Internet Optimizer".

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry key "{FC87A650-207D-4392-A6A1-82ADBC56FA64}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\".
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "MULTIDIST.MultiDistCtrl.1", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "{BF279130-3F58-4E26-8043-CD5688A4D4C9}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{FC87A650-207D-4392-A6A1-82ADBC56FA64}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{563E5DF0-2C1C-4513-BBF5-D380536BB8FC}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{11B6F65D-7B8D-43CB-9AAE-17234A1DB33A}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
If ClimaxBucks.InternetOptimizer uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
