The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "CoolWWWSearch" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
This piece of malware hijacks the IE start page and redirects to its own sites. This will then lead to a malicious web search page causing popup windows while using IE. The sites may also advertise trojans and/or install them directly without user consent.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "PayTime" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\paytime.exe".
Entries named "PayTime" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\*.exe".

Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) or RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) to locate and get rid of these entries.

Products that have a key or property named "HSA".
Products that have a key or property named "SE".
Products that have a key or property named "SW".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

A file with an unknown location named "paytime.exe".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\paytime.exe".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\vx.tll".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\foncd.log".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If CoolWWWSearch uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry key "{02AD4975-057E-0C14-0D8F-80E33958C89E}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{082E199C-CD11-61BF-A214-6EC3A4ABF8F7}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{98768F3D-452C-E0C0-6CBB-2629369E23A5}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{F75AC5FC-286A-FBCD-DAA0-BBF7432C9370}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{F75AC5FC-286A-FBCD-DAA0-BBF7432C9370}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
Delete the registry key "{97146B06-1C16-A8ED-F143-38A0B32C95C6}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{38D1F3DF-FB67-8743-6E85-FF7876760CC3}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{A3EF2036-CFD2-F736-1258-F2AF909EE5AD}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{6C7D9907-C2D6-B9E2-D48F-43DCBCF2B92C}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{09D7884A-8F8F-4BFF-EDBE-5BD9E059AD10}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{B56A3A50-DA20-CBCC-279B-A5DD27D033EA}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{E5C66D90-2197-6EF1-6B06-E1F19664CBE2}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{41166B05-38CB-DB65-5902-C743DB1E7CEB}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{2063449B-DFCD-8D2A-079F-2D83BA794FBA}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{22D8605B-C38E-EB92-618E-5E2B49B91193}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{3C78D168-D618-2558-D1C3-D6A144771699}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{44D563B8-9589-F3D3-2C09-70BC15AC61A5}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{5931500D-12C9-BEE2-C3C0-42DC00602B4C}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{676575DD-4D46-911D-8037-9B10D6EE8BB5}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{9B86A6BC-05A1-A484-8BD9-EAD260708A6D}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{C5943759-704B-30E2-9B29-D194E3EDC73A}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{DCC3C69C-F97B-FF77-966E-3022E37FECF2}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{DF74C661-DB05-EADF-C00B-6319AB2DA8BE}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{42DA9DB2-F27D-CC50-DBA3-BB1C41D11D58}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key " 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\".
Delete the registry key " 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\".
