The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "ErrorSweeper" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
ErrorSweeper claims to be a security software. When it is installed on the computer it finds harmless entries as high risk security problems. To fix these false issues the user has to purchase a licence.
Removal Instructions:

Desktop:

Please remove the following files from your desktop.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

Shortcuts named "ErrorSweeper.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\*.exe".

Start Menu:

Please remove the following items from your start menu.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

Items named "ErrorSweeper on the Web.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\ErrorSweeper.url".
Items named "ErrorSweeper.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\*.exe".
Items named "Uninstall ErrorSweeper.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\*.exe".

Quicklaunch area:

Please remove the following items from your start quick launch area text to the "Start" button in the taskbar at the bottom.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

Quicklaunch symbols named "ErrorSweeper.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\*.exe".

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "ErrorSweeper" and pointing to "?<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\*.exe*".
Entries named "ErrorSweeper" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\ErrorSweeper.exe".
Entries named "ErrorSweeper" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\.exe".
Entries named "ErrorSweeper" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\*.exe".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) or RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) to locate and get rid of these entries.

Products that have a key or property named "{5B87ABBD-F9CA-49C8-B9E9-785EBD213864}".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\license.rtf".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\TCL.dll".
The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\ErrorSweeper\ErrorSweeper on the Web.lnk".
The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\ErrorSweeper\ErrorSweeper.lnk".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\DataBase.ref".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\ErrorSweeper.url".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\RegCleaner.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\TCL.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\zlib.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\msvcp80.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\msvcr80.dll".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If ErrorSweeper uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper".
The directory at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\ErrorSweeper".
The directory at "<$APPDATA>\ErrorSweeper".
The directory at "<$APPDATA>\ErrorSweeper\Log".
The directory at "<$APPDATA>\ErrorSweeper\Registry Backups".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\Microsoft.VC80.CRT".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\Microsoft.VC80.MFC".
The directory at "<$WINDIR>\Installer\{5B87ABBD-F9CA-49C8-B9E9-785EBD213864}".

Delete the registry key "ErrorSweeper" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
Delete the registry key "ErrorSweeper" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
Delete the registry key "237E8344C63A96A488459969FA597307" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
Delete the registry key "6A461B421C7F38F47B189D6AEFB7BF9D" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
Delete the registry key "75134BC882947914896DBC821FD12091" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
Delete the registry key "A8EBC8E2796E0134DA742AA58F4A1722" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
Delete the registry key "D2E1B7EE33D700E46A10B07DF72214D4" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
Delete the registry key "D823FE9965DDDDA40A4E15AE1B17C41E" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
Delete the registry key "DBBEF3BCB52226A46BBAF556F95927C4" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
Delete the registry value "<$PROGRAMS>\ErrorSweeper\" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\".
Delete the registry value "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\".
Delete the registry value "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\".
Delete the registry value "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ErrorSweeper\Microsoft.VC80.MFC\" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\".
If ErrorSweeper uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
