The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "HB.RichMedia" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
HB.RichMedia installs a browser helper object (BHO) without user consent. It runs its files in background and adds itself to systemstart. It also appears to have serverfunctions
Supposed Functionality:
Disguises as a winrar executeable archive.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "RichMedia" and pointing to ""<$SYSDIR>\Rundll32.exe "<$SYSDRIVE>\hbcast.dll",WaitWindows"".
Entries named "RichMedia".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$SYSDRIVE>\HBHelper.dll".
A file with an unknown location named "HBHelper.dll".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\helper.htm".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\hber.ini".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\helper.ini".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\hap.log".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\hbhsy.ini".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\helper.ini".
The file at "<$SYSDRIVE>\hbcast.dll".
The file at "<$WINDIR2>\downnew.ini".
The file at "<$WINDIR2>\hb24065.log".
The file at "<$SYSDIR2>\distributer.txt".
The file at "<$SYSDIR2>\downews.ini".
The file at "<$SYSDIR2>\hap.log".
The file at "<$SYSDIR2>\hber.ini".
The file at "<$SYSDIR2>\hbhsy.ini".
The file at "<$SYSDIR2>\popnews.ini".
A file with an unknown location named "Flash9.dll".
A file with an unknown location named "SafeHelper12.dll".
A file with an unknown location named "sys32dev.dll".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If HB.RichMedia uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry key "{AE22AFE5-1EF4-4D25-9E23-D2825FB17DA1}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\".
Delete the registry key "{85369352-6230-4276-AF3E-C59C51E2459B}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
Delete the registry key "{2A4956FD-BE98-4104-ABEB-97029B3175BB}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{3AE06CEE-58A6-4F5F-AF89-6C5350842F16}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{46F194EB-B7DB-4B7A-BD42-5FF39FD17664}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{85369352-6230-4276-AF3E-C59C51E2459B}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{B88DBC3F-41FB-40AE-AFB0-4220E842B710}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{7E67BF8E-A866-42A3-88F7-47947F2D7F72}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{8CD25F15-5F9A-4EF1-8C5D-58BF58C3D2C3}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{F292778C-A4AB-44DE-A608-2DC42127AF50}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{FD439585-0591-4877-AF40-DA4ECFD3A5A3}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Racole.ractobj", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Racole.ractobj.1", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Racole.raObject", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Racole.raObject.1", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "SafeHelper11.CBhoSafeHlpObject", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "SafeHelper11.CBhoSafeHlpObject.1", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "{71638D42-66A2-48ED-A4D4-AD8ABBDF3D13}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "{7627D225-08E6-42F6-AF5D-C1B7A50639B8}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "{BD98F5EA-2EFA-4B64-B9E2-1AAA232CEF7D}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "{2A4956FD-BE98-4104-ABEB-97029B3175BB}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
Delete the registry key "{3AE06CEE-58A6-4F5F-AF89-6C5350842F16}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
Delete the registry key "{B88DBC3F-41FB-40AE-AFB0-4220E842B710}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
