The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "WebSpyShield" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
WebSpyShield claims to be an antispyware solution and installs a browser toolbar in the Internet Explorer. If the user scans his computers WebSpyShield shows a lot of false positives. To remove these false positives the user has to purchase a license.
Removal Instructions:

Start Menu:

Please remove the following items from your start menu.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

Items named "Uninstall.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\*.exe".
Items named "Uninstall.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\Uninstall.exe".
Items named "WebSpyShield.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\WebSpyShield.exe".
Items named "WebSpyShield.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\*.exe".
Items named "WebSpyShield.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\*.exe".
Items named "WebSpyShield.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\*.exe".
Items named "WebSpyShield.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\*.exe".

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "WebSpyShield" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\WebSpyShield.exe".
Entries named "WebSpyShield" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\*.exe".
Entries named "WebSpyShield" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\*.exe".
Entries named "WebSpyShield" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\*.exe".
Entries named "WebSpyShield" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\*.exe".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) or RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) to locate and get rid of these entries.

Products that have a key or property named "WebSpyShield".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\Uninstall.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\WebSpyShield.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield\WebSpyShield.exe".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\netsupp.dll".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If WebSpyShield uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

The directory at "<$PROGRAMS>\WebSpyShield".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSpyShield".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If WebSpyShield uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry value "{E4988DE7-C5DB-4173-96F9-AAC426AF7BCE}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\".
Delete the registry key "{2F12EBBC-8CF2-464E-9F13-CB58705D4824}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\".
Delete the registry key "{DC87418B-0B2C-424E-900D-54F2ECE15B6B}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\".
Delete the registry key "{E4988DE7-C5DB-4173-96F9-AAC426AF7BCE}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\".
Delete the registry key "WebSpyShield" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
Delete the registry key "{331BB5FE-6A91-45F8-AE63-33D910E1A0B0}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
Delete the registry key "WebSpyShield.EXE" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
Delete the registry key "{2F12EBBC-8CF2-464E-9F13-CB58705D4824}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{DC87418B-0B2C-424E-900D-54F2ECE15B6B}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{E4988DE7-C5DB-4173-96F9-AAC426AF7BCE}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{72A7BE89-C627-4A6C-BBE4-AB171C51BEAC}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{B16D65AB-EBAF-4DCD-BD17-EEC7C5DE790C}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{EA5D3C85-6C7A-42F3-974B-216442137576}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{34476BD7-3292-4A2B-A7C3-895169DCF6E7}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "{6389830B-ADD6-4BF7-8D38-F292E92C66B1}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "WebSpyShield.Application", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "WebSpyShield.Application.1", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "{DC87418B-0B2C-424E-900D-54F2ECE15B6B}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
If WebSpyShield uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
