The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Win32.Krotten.ex" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Win32.Krotten.ex makes invisible StartMenu Items (ControlPanel, Pribter, Shutdown etc..). Disables also TaskManager, RegEdit, the ability to close Internet Explorer(IE). It also changes the IE startsite.
Removal Instructions:
Autorun:
Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
Entries named "explorer" and pointing to "C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\Manifests\explorer.exe".
Entries named "System" and pointing to "C:\WINDOWS\Provisioning\Schemas\lsass.exe".
Files:
Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.
Registry:
You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
Remove "9999" from registry value "MenuShowDelay" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\".
Remove "-280" from registry value "WallpaperOriginX" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\".
Remove "-380" from registry value "WallpaperOriginY" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\".
Remove "ÁËßÄÜ" from registry value "sTimeFormat" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International\".
Remove ":::::::::::::::::: ÌÎÉ ÕÓÉ ÑÃÍÈË ÏÈÇÄÅÍÜ ÏÐÎÒÓÕËÀ È Â ÆÎÏÅ ÏÈÇÄÎÐÅÇ ::::::::::::::::::" from registry value "Window title" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\".
If Win32.Krotten.ex uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
Browser:
