The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Bifrose.LA" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Bifrose.LA is a trojan that installs itself into the windows directory and starts automatically by system startup. When the computer is connected to the internet the trojan tries to connect to a server and waits for new orders to spy out the user.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "startkeybrn" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\server*.exe".
Entries named "winstartkey" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\msdire.exe".
Entries named "winstartkey" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\*.exe".
Entries named "startkey" and pointing to "<$WINDIR>\_system32.exe".
Entries named "server.exe" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\server.exe".
Entries named "key system" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\system32.exe".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Bifrost\server.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Bifrost\systam.exe".
A file with an unknown location named "1234.exe".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\messangre\phito.exe".
The file at "<$APPDATA>\addon.dat".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\winlogo\klog.dat".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\winlogo\winlog.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Bifrost\server.exe".
The file at "<$APPDATA>\addon.dat".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\microsoftserv\klog.dat".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\msdire.exe".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\plugin1.dat".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\server.exe".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\setinfo.exe".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\system32.dat".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\system32.exe".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\_system32.exe".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Bifrose.LA uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Bifrost".
The directory at "<$SYSDIR>\messangre".
The directory at "<$SYSDIR>\winlogo".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Bifrost".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\msn live".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Bifrose.LA uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry key "wlon" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
Delete the registry key "wlon" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
Delete the registry key "{4AC9B6AE-5232-6BEF-802B-5B507181BE0A}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\".
Delete the registry key "{34328108-08D6-B3F1-0506-050004030000}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\".
Delete the registry key "Bifrost" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
Delete the registry key "Bifrost" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
Delete the registry key "SKav" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
Delete the registry key "{9B71D88C-C598-4935-C5D1-43AA4DB90836}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\".
Delete the registry key "{A5CDF7EC-751B-46aa-AD69-4005FE080DE8}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\".
Delete the registry key "SKav" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
If Bifrose.LA uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
