The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Smitfraud-C.SpamThru" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
This trojan horse runs in background and connects to a remote server, bypassing the Windows firewall. It can take orders from the remote server to download a pirate copy of Kaspersky Antivirus to uninstall other malware than itself, it will also hijack the hosts file to block the servers from antivirus vendors.
Supposed Functionality:
This Trojan enters itself as Explorer with a four digit number in system start, thus posing as some part of the Explorer
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "Explorer 2238" and pointing to "*\dxvw*.exe".

Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2222}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2222" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2225}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2225" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2234}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2234" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2235}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2235" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2237}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2237" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2239}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2239" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2240}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2240" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2241}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2241" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2242}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2242" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
Delete the registry value "{2C1CD3D7-86AC-4068-93BC-A02304BB2243}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\".
Delete the registry value "DCOM Server 2243" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\".
