The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Win32.Winlagons.co" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Win32.Winlagons.co installs executable files into Windows and System directories, starts itself in autorun as "SystemDrive", "runner1", "msdefender.exe", "advap32", "taskmon", "DriveSystems", "Service Pack 1" without giving the user a possibility to cancel that process. Also make massive router attack.


Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "advap32" and pointing to ""<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\*.tmp"/r".
Entries named "DriveSystem" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\*.exe".
Entries named "msdefender.exe" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\msdefender.exe".
Entries named "runner1" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\*.exe *".
Entries named "System" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\wind32.exe".
Entries named "SystemDrive" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\*.exe".
Entries named "taskmon" and pointing to "<$WINDIR>\taskmon.exe".
Entries named "Service Pack 1" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\*.exe".
Entries named "Windows update loader" and pointing to "<$WINDIR>\xpupdate.exe".

Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temporary Internet Files\AntiPhishing\B3BB5BBA-E7D5-40AB-A041-A5B1C0B26C8F.dat".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\Era31.sys".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\tcpsr.sys".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\kr_done1".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\WinNt32.dll".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\zbnpkr.tmp".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Win32.Winlagons.co uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry key "{F2F2A4CB-DAAD-4D0C-BDFC-E945647202C2}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{F2F2A4CB-DAAD-4D0C-BDFC-E945647202C2}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
Delete the registry key "WinNt32" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\".
Delete the registry key "Era31" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\".
Delete the registry key "Era31" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\".
Delete the registry key "Era31" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\".
Delete the registry key "tcpsr" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\".
Delete the registry key "tcpsr" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\".
Delete the registry key "tcpsr" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\".
If Win32.Winlagons.co uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
