The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Winsoftware.WinAntiVirus2005pro" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
connects to reliable stats at install and uninstall submitting unknown data over a SSL-connection. Installation does not finish properly if SSL-connection is not available.
Uninstall is incomplete, even if SSL connection is available. If SSL-connection is not possible, Uninstall just hangs/ does not conclude.
Same company as Winfixer and WinAntiSpyware 2005

Aggressive Advertising aimed at fooling the user, to make him buy the product.

Advertising implies, that the users computer is beeing scanned and threats are beeing found.

WinAntiVirus finds a cookie and calls it a "dangerous infection" , after a 2nd scan 2 infected files are found or on the popupscreen 3 dangerous infections, on each following scan the popup window shows 2 additional dangerous infection although the number of infected files does not rise.
In the scan report an empty drive a: is also reported.

WinAntiVirus is clearly a fraud, aimed at making the user pay for a software which usefulnes cannot be proven by the trial version, instead data is collected and the user is beeing fooled.
Supposed Functionality:
Trial version is supposed to scan for Spyware and Viruses for free
Removal Instructions:

Desktop:

Please remove the following files from your desktop.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

Shortcuts that point to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\WinAV.exe".

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "AVTray" and pointing to "?<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\AVTray.exe?".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) or RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) to locate and get rid of these entries.

Products that have a key or property named "WA5P_is1".

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\AVTerm.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\AVTray.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\bdcore.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\bdupd.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\libfn.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\psapi.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\rpt.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\sr.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\Updater.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro\WinAV.exe".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Winsoftware.WinAntiVirus2005pro uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

The directory at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\WinSoftware\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro".
The directory at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiVirus 2005 Pro".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Winsoftware.WinAntiVirus2005pro uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "AntiVirus.AntiVirus.1", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "AntiVirusCOM.AntiVirusTray", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "AntiVirusCOM.AntiVirusTray.1", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "{59C9C173-2924-4d54-8E79-A9EB72B2F2DC}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
Delete the registry key "AVKernel.EXE" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "AVExplorer.ExplorerAntiVirus", plus associated values.
