The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Wootbot.gen" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
The file copies itself into the system directory and creates a lot of autorun entries in order to be run without user consent. The file contains functions to look for passwords and logins or keys of gaming software. It is also capable of shutting down antivirus software in order to lower system security. It opens a connection to a remote server where the information can be sent or from where orders can be received.
Supposed Functionality:
Disguises as Win32 FireWire Driver.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "Win32 FireWire Driver" and pointing to "*.EXE".

Files:

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.
