The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "WhenU.DAEMONTools.SearchBar" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Installs a search toolbar into the internet browser, installs additionally WhenU.Search.BrowserToolBar and WhenU.SaveNow. Helps promoting the fake antispyware solution SpywareBot.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer\DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer.exe".
Entries named "WhenUSearch" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DAEMON Tools SearchBar\Search.exe".
Entries named "WhenUSearchWHSE" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DAEMON Tools SearchBar\whse.exe".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\DAEMON Tools\DAEMON Tools SearchBar.lnk".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DAEMON Tools SearchBar\search.db".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DAEMON Tools SearchBar\Search.exe".

The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DAEMON Tools SearchBar\store.db".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DAEMON Tools SearchBar\Uninst.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DAEMON Tools SearchBar\whse.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer\DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer.exe".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer\vvsn.cfg".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer\URL3\WUSVInst.exe".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If WhenU.DAEMONTools.SearchBar uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Folders:

The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer\URL3"filename=WUSVInst.exe".
The directory at "<$COMMONPROGRAMFILES>\WhenU".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Mozilla Firefox\extensions\{BEE3E87E-E1C6-4bfe-BE9D-48E84271AB34}".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Mozilla Firefox\extensions\{BEE3E87E-E1C6-4bfe-BE9D-48E84271AB34}\chrome".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Mozilla Firefox\extensions\{BEE3E87E-E1C6-4bfe-BE9D-48E84271AB34}\components".

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry key "{BA2325ED-F9EB-4830-8FCE-0BC35B16969B}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\".
If WhenU.DAEMONTools.SearchBar uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
