The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Network Essentials.WindowEnhancer" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "WindowEnhancer".
Entries pointing to "winex\v2\winex.EXE".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\winex\v2\winex.DLL".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\winex\v2\winex.EXE".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Network Essentials.WindowEnhancer uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "WebCom.WebBho", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "WebCom.WebCommand", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "WebCom.WebSearch", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "{00041A26-7033-432C-94C7-6371DE343822}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{49DE8655-4D15-4536-B67C-2AA6C1106740}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{9368D063-44BE-49B9-BD14-BB9663FD38FC}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{1EB48AA7-D3FE-4E4C-AC8E-B01594496AC0}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{42BD9965-303D-4CFB-AAE0-DCADCB791A55}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{F5F0A448-2BCD-459E-8743-C39154EE1CA8}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{A8F92C35-530B-4907-922C-CE31D4B6B14A}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
If Network Essentials.WindowEnhancer uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) or RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer).
