Hi
I use Spybot regularly and find it usually good
But on recent scans it has detected various Zlob files (eg.gen,.mld,.se,.vcd etc ) without removing or even telling me where I can find them to delete myself
No Zlob files can be seen in the registry or program files
Can Spybot help to get rid of these pests ?

What version of Spybot - Search & Destroy are you running (Spybot » Help » About)?
If you are not running Spybot 1.6.0.30 or above, consider upgrading. The downloads are located here:

If you are running Spybot 1.6.0.30 or above, there are two things that you can try to get rid of the things that Spybot-S&D is having difficulty removing:
Try to run it the next time you reboot.
Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced mode > Settings > Settings > look for "System start" (located half way down the page).
Check the option: "Run program once at next system startup".
Reboot the system.
Run it in Safe mode.
Reboot your system in Safe mode and run Spybot-S&D.
If Spybot still fails to correct the problem, consider posting in the Malware Removal (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22) forum and having someone take a look at your system.
If you decide to have an experienced malware removal specialist assist you, please follow the procedure in this link to run scans and produce a HijackThis log: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) ( http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288).
After you have completed the required scans and produced the requested logs, start your own thread in the Malware Removal (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22) forum, making sure to post the HijackThis log produced from the above instructions.

If you don't think that assistance from a malware removal specialist is necessary and that you can handle the problem on your own, it may help if you posted the log of the actual detections you are getting. To do that, either:
Run another scan.
When the scan completes, right click on the results list, select "Copy results to clipboard".
Then paste those results (Ctrl+V) to a new post in this thread.
Post the Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.txt or the Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm.txt log from a previous scan that shows the detection in question.
By default here are two Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log files produced during a scan. The second Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log has the details of what the scan found. A Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm.log.txt log file is produced if you fix or attempt to fix something.
There are two methods to copy and post that information from previous scans:
Method 1:
Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced mode > Tools > View Reports > View Previous reports. Look for the Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log file that contains the detections that you would like help with. Open it. To copy it to the Clipboard, right click on the listing and select Select All > Right click again and select Copy. Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of the Clipboard into a new post in this thread.
Method 2
The Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log and Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm.log files are stored in the following folders:
Windows 95 or 98:
C:\Windows\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
Windows ME:
C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
Windows NT, 2000 or XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
Windows Vista:

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the correct Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log. Double click on it and it should open with Notepad. To copy it to the Clipboard, right click on the listing and select Select All > Right click again and select Copy. Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of the Clipboard into a new post in this thread.
