The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Smitfraud-C.bs" manually.

Description:
Smitfraud-C.bs installs itself with a variable name in the system start. It also places a wallpaper with a spyware warning on the desktop. Additionally it installs the bluescreen screensaver by Sysinternals/Microsoft.
Removal Instructions:

Registry:
You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
Remove "<$SYSDIR><$REGMATCH1>.bmp" from registry value "ConvertedWallpaper" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\".
Remove "<$SYSDIR>\<$REGMATCH1>.bmp" from registry value "Wallpaper" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\".
If Smitfraud-C.bs uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
