Firefox version 3.0.4 w/ Adblock and flashgot only.
Spybot S&D 1.6 w/ updates.
Nothing my on firefox excemption list, Vista ultimate x64 w/ SP1 + latest updates
and why is there 32, 32/64 and 64 as separate tabs.. seems kinda redundant the 32/64 single profile is good enough.
The "32/64 bit" part are user registry keys that are independent of the architecture, the separate 2 and 64 bit kyes are global for the two browser versions.
Redundant maybe... redundancy can be regarded as a security feature as well of course ;)
Is it Portable Firefox? That would be supported only in 1.6.1 (on the doorstep) / 2.0 (beta end of year).
Has 3.0.4 any bigger changes? Did just see that my browsers test system still has 3.0.3, will have to install update next to check...
Regular firefox, on my XP machine it has immunization for firefox 3.0.4
Im pretty sure i saw firefox immunizations on my vista some time ago. i just forgot w/c specific version it worked with.
I ment redundant in terms of display since im a single user on my PC
Tried reinstalling both firefox and S&D, still nothing
Redundant in terms of display: yes and no. For ease of use, you're right. For trying to locate problems, the full detail range helps. Hmmm... good point, thanks, we'll discuss this a bit regarding possible solutions to make it look more simple.
The file that Spybot uses to detect Firefox is prefs.js in the profile folder. It starts looking in C:\Users\(username)\AppData\(Local or Roaming or direct)\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles.ini and looks in the profiles listed there for prefs.js.
Could you please check whether you have that file?
A workaround might be using the undocumented Portable Firefox support feature in 1.6.1.

Yes i have it there, so whats this work around ?
Sorry, I noticed the paths are different in Firefox Portable, thus this (http://forums.spybot.info/project.php?issueid=346) would not work. Where exactly did you find prefs.js ?
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\rl19akyr.default
I did upload a new BrowserCI version (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=26) that displays a log tab showing the various steps of detectiing browsers. Could you please copy'n'paste that log here? It might show where it stops.
Ouch, didn't expect that the Mozilla section would be completely empty. That means he didn't even find the profiles.ini file. Which probably means a problem determining the appdata path (which, since it should work for inactive accounts as well, is a bit more complex than usual).
I'll see if I can extend the log (and possibly detection) to find out more...
Update: have you tried the 1.6.1 beta? While looking for possible reasons I just noticed that we had updated the appdata folder detection shortly after the release of 1.6.0 for those cases where the registry did not contain the shell appdata folder info (the registry is not the proper place anyway usually... but the only if you want to deal with multiple user accounts).
The old registry only method would use this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\AppData=C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming
@borhes
We may have a similar problem but please do no hijack my thread,if you want to join in politely say so!

Tried Spybot S&D 1.6.1 Beta, still no firefox immunization.
I'll update the test tomorrow to show even more small steps to make sure we find the source of this. Could you meanwhile check the aforementioned registry value? Does it exist? Is it empty?

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
The directory tree stops till there and contains 3 registry keys
http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/4873/regkeyjm7.th.jpg (http://img443.imageshack.us/my.php?image=regkeyjm7.jpg)
That makes it quite complicated to find any place in the registry to use...
I've updated BrowserCI (as our browser testfield) with a few other attempts at re-using other registry keys to use to find out the AppData path, as well as - the official way but not multi-user compatble - falling back to API calls.
Hope this'll be able to detect Firefox; in that case I could port the changes to Spybot as well.

I also had this problem on a 32bit vista machine a while back. My only conclusion was a botched Firefox issue when I restored my profile after a system loss. I posted here but we never figured it out.
Have you done anything regarding backing up or restoring your Firefox installation/profile? I.E. using a program called Mozbackup?
My post (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=34525) for reference.
No, never done any backups, all i do is bookmark import/export
Thanks EarlZ, looks like it is detected now, will try to put it into the 1.6.1 release candidate (that probably would've been out already otherwise, so its near)!

Was that with this version (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=44)?
I downloaded the .38 version since that was the only on available during that time, ill try the .41 now
