Been having problems viewing some gaming/anime video sites as of late. Been using the sites for awhile now so I know its not them or anything. In fact I had used them the night before and a little bit in the morning before work. But when I got back my pc was blocking things or the sites blocking me. Been wanting to fix it cause for one its not good to have things on my PC that I dont know what they are, and also cause I wanna order a few things online but dont wanna enter my info into the forms cause of it.

Also I have run a few programs to see if they would clean it out but it was a no go, even ran Avira in safe mode for better luck.

Hi

I see you have both AVG and Antivir installed. It's not recommended to have more than one antivirus program in the same system. Decide which one you want to keep and then uninstall the other one.

Uninstall also SpyBlocker if you didn't install it on purpose with ZoneAlarm.

Disable SpySweeper's realtime protection.

Open Spysweeper and click on Options
Choose Program Options and uncheck
load at windows
startup
.
On the left click
shields
and then uncheck everything.
Uncheck
home page shield
.
Uncheck
automatically restore default without notification
.
Exit the program.

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html)
Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

C:\ComboFix.txt
New HijackThis log.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

dont wanna run the other program and run the risk of really messing something up on my pc or my pc all together.

Hi

Your system is already badly messed up. I wouldn't see ComboFix as a risk here. You can install recovery console with ComboFix too: when ComboFix is run it should ask whether or not you want to install recovery console. Let it do so. If you still decide not to run ComboFix, let me know.

just read the part where it says you can go to the microsoft link to download the thing, but when i click on mine Windows XP SP2, it goes to the download page. I click on the download button and it says if it doesnt load in 30 seconds to click on the other link. I wait and I get a "unable to connect" error, even when clicking on the extra link to hurry it up it does it.

also forgot to mention that i tried it on both firefox and opera, also tried it while in safe mode as well.

Hi

I believe infection is blocking the site. Please run ComboFix and it should ask you whether or not you want to install recovery console. Let it do so.

Hi

Please post a fresh hjt log too.

ash1617
2008-12-18, 23:38
oh, you said "New HJT log" after the combofix log, and I thought you meant that the Combo log was the new HJT log.

I have been able to get back into the sites I was blocked from before, and now my virus program updated (it would download the update but not update the program) with no problems.

Hi

Looks like you didn't disable Spysweeper realtime protection though I told you to do so. Also, both AVG and Antivir are still installed.

Please disable Spysweeper and make a decision between those two antivirus programs.

IMPORTANT I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

BitTorrent
LimeWire

I'd like you to read the this thread (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=282).

Please go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the programs listed above (in red).

Delete these folders afterwards:

c:\documents and settings\Owner\Application Data\BitTorrent
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\LimeWire Acceleration Patch
c:\Program Files\BitTorrent
c:\Program Files\LimeWire

Empty Recycle Bin.

After that:

Start hjt, do a system scan, check (if found):
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = :

Close browsers and fix checked.

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

File::

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
Then post the resultant log.

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

Uninstall old Adobe Reader versions and get the latest one here (http://www.filehippo.com/download_adobe_reader/) or get Foxit Reader here (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader_2/down_reader.htm).
