hi,

i dont see any malware in the log, but that dosnt mean you dont have any. A hjt log alone should not be relied on for a "clean' computer. is your antivirus and anti-malware coming up clean after a scan?

yes, I had a "warning" that my computer was infected, then it started one of the fake scans. That was earlier today, actually, (and just prior to posting the Hijack this log) but i ran a clean up at the time, and perhaps what the online scan removed today cleared the problem. Thank you.

hi,

those fake virus warnings can appear two ways: as a pop up message from some scam website while you are on the internet, complete with a fake scan, its all web based its not really scanning your computer.
If you have new icons by the clock or pop ups when you are not on the internet then the malware is already present on your computer.

you have spybot, i suggest a second antimalware app to have on your computer, its called malwarebytes antimalware. there is a free version. i would get it.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
