View Full Version : Help! My Computer has been Hijacked!

Hello all:

Unfortunately, my machine has been hijacked! I have McAfee Anti-Virus software and it has not been able to detect anything. Symptoms include:

-google links being hijacked
-I am able to download HJTInstall.exe but not able to install it (I double-click on the .exe, the hour glass appears for a second but nothing happens. The process is listed in my Task Manager
-I am unable to visit spybot.info on the machine
-I am unable to install Spybot (same as HiJackThis)


Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Any hopes of being able to install HijackThis and posting my log?

Hi all,

Another symptom - I am able to run Ad Aware but it does not allow me to delete some cookies but also changes the language of the application to German!

OK I was able to install HJT by downloading to CD, renaming it 'something.exe' Attached is the log:
