Spybot lists the following programme in its list of start up programmes;
Value: crypt32chain and command line: crypt32.dll.

Process library and others list this as a Trojan. (I did have spyware detected recently) and am not sure if it has been properly cleansed!

I also have the following programme listed as a start up programme. Value = cryptnet and command line = cryptnet.dll which process library says is a windows programme.

Please just a simple yes/know or good/bad please. I am a newbie to all this

Thank you

sabaithaime:

Are you running Windows 2000 or XP and are the entries a listed as WinLogon entries? If so both crypt32.dll and cryptnet.dll are Microsoft modules used in various security routines and APIs. For example see: Internet Connection Security Components

Some of the confusion may be coming from here http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/crypt32chain/

You would think a Mircosoft "Gold" partner would know what they are talking about. Sadly that is not always the case

don't blink:

The dynamic link library referenced by processlibrary.com as being part of the Crpytnet Trojan is crypt32chain.dll. The Microsoft module is crypt32.dll.
