View Full Version : Virtumonde trouble with XP

A few notes before I post the log. First I got nailed with the malware via a bad link and immediately ran spybot and it found the malware but it has defeated spybots attempts to remove it completely. On the note of virus scanning programs I use Panda Securities online scanning tool. Its a full version anti-virus program but has no constant heuristic scanning tools and doesn't have the ability to constantly monitor the computer and whats going on with it. I realize that this isn't optimal but I have not had good experiences with anti-virus programs and memory footprints (even with "good" free ones such as AVG and company.)

So my problem is specifically stemming to virtumonde. The most obvious evidence of this is the sporatic popups but its also causing my internet to slow down and its interfering with the operation of my peripherals. As I'm typing the keyboard is missing keypresses and the mouse skips and even something like changing the sound level while watching a video causes the video to skip now. Its also managed to make my windows update turn off. I can't get the Automatic Updates service to start anymore, even when manually trying to start it in the services.msc. Its all rather annoying so I'd really appreciate any help you guys can give me.

This is not a bump. I am fully aware that by posting I may delay my problem being responded to but I felt the information contained within this post was worth posting before a tech advised me on a course of action.

I ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program and here is the Malwarebytes log and the new HJT log. (Spybot and malwarebytes are not detecting anything wrong, but I wanna make sure that everything is as it should be and there's nothing lingering that could cause me problems down the road.)
