Hello,

I just started using Spybot. I keep getting pop-ups that ask if I want to allow or deny a registry change. The problem is that I don't understand what the different changes are - for example, right now it is says:

Category: System startup user entry
Change: Value added

Entry: windpipe

If it says "value added", should I allow for the change? Is there any general criteria which will help me determine when to allow or deny? If there any way to turn this functionality off?

There is not enough information to give an answer. Can you post the full message? I have no idea what this "windpipe" entry is. What are the values for the new and old data? If possible, can you post a screenshot?

Thing is, what have you done with the prompt? Have you allowed it, denied it, or just left the computer on?

This "windpipe" term sounds like it can be related to those legacy OS's, but I can't be sure. What Operating System are you running?
