Hey everyone,

Just registered because I've looked through various other posts about this "command service" spyware program and I can't get rid of it. Already tried starting in safe mode, running HJT and deleting suspect items according to the analyzer at www.hijackthis.de I've also run Spybot S&D dozens of times (including in safe mode at startup) and still can't get rid of these popups. I've had Spybot S&D return Doubleclick, and a few other virii that it finds, then removes.. but they come back.

I've also tried downloading "delcmdservice" zip file and using a .bat file to uninstall command service but the popups continue.

Heres the HJT log:

Alright, well I went to start my laptop today and it wouldnt load Windows. I had to use my Phoenix software to restore factory settings. The Averatec customer service woman I spoke with told me that apparently she had been receiving a lot of calls regarding this type of problem. She said that the virus I had was set to "go off" on May 1st, which was indeed my date of infection. Anyhow, I've restored everything now and installed Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster, and also I just bought SpySweeper from www.Webroot.com for additional protection. I'm going to be purchasing ZoneAlarm as soon as my Norton Antivirus 3-Month trial runs out. Hope everyone can learn from my mistake and take the proper precautions before hand and hopefully avoid this sort of mess- no fun at all!

Sorry to hear you had such problems! I'm glad you got it resolved anyway. Since your issues appear to be fixed, I'll go ahead and close & archive this thread now. :)
