Hi Im new here and was just directed to this form for help, proably shouldnt have done this but didnt know any better. Im using windows xp with mcafee and spybot. Just surfing the web caught something. Spybot wouldnt load or run anymore and mcaffe wouldnt update anymore either. Kept getting a system message with a red X saying my antivirus was out of date and keep opening a web page for antivirus 2009. Anytime i tried to open a web link the antivirus 2009 web page would open. It also disabled my system restore. So I decided to re-install windows xp and reformatted by hd in the process so now all i have is my basic system back up and running. I reinstalled firefox and mcafee and spybot and malwarebytes.
Any suggestions for any other action needed on my part?
