I also have a file named soft.exe in the folder C:\WINDOWS. 5,434 KB Application.
The above items were not detected by Spybot S&D. Is it safe to remove them. Please advise. Thank you.
Hello Bigstrong Friendly. :)
We need either a Spybot-S&D log to analyse or a HJT log in the malware forum as you did before so we can see the entire picture and not a part.

As I have said the items are not detected by Spybot S&D. Probably remnants left over from the last cleaning by Spbot S&D. Item log is from a-squared. The flag on soft.exe is from Panda online web scanner. Hope to to receive your advice soon and thank you.

Hi
If panda flaged file soft.exe manualy delete it
Do you have any myweb items on SSD's ignorlist ?
SpyBot > advanced > settings > ignore products > pups sbi
Im just curious :)
SpyBot 1.4 final correct ?
Fix this item with Hijackthis

I see CDilla checked. I don't know why. I can't remember checking any box in Spybot S&D. I have made sure every box against everything is unchecked. I ran Spybot S&D. The result is no immediate threat. Why the detection failed? Is it safe to let a-squared remove all the detected problems? Is it safe to delete or wipe the soft.exe file?
I find it takes a long time to update Spybot S&D in my area with an ADSL connection. Is it possible to just copy the files from a computer that had been updated? Which files do I need?

As I have said above only ignored box checked was CDilla. After making sure every box was unchecked I ran Spybot S&D. The result was no immediate threat. HJT still showed the mywebsearch item. I deleted the mywebsearch item with HJT and this is the new HJT log.

Have you tried selcting a differant server (download location)for updates ?
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/howto/update.html
You can always use the manual update
Detection updates 2006-05-05 -
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
If used Be aware the manual update do not change the info under help about
latest detection updates.
SSD doesnt see all of the leftovers from myway programs becouse ( I assume)it is a minor player and PC's are being sold with it already installed, del for example.
As i pointed out manualy delete soft.exe
Im not familur with A-squared, but yes in this case i think its safe to let it remove the item's..

The point is that I sometimes have to try a few servers before i got the updating done correctly. This can take up to half an hour. What I want to do just to copy files from a computer already updated. This should be fast with a flash memory device. Now I wish to know which are the files in the SSD subdirectories of Program Files and Documents and Settings.
I am a bit cautious now about a squared after it deleted more than a hundred of my p2p files. The feeling is similar to what the highly paid IT VPs experienced after their dll files had been deleted by the anti virus product.

When choosing a server (download location) there is an option to set it as default, it is in the right click context menue.
You can put the updates from one pc to another .
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Includes

I knew about the dafult server but it served no purpose. It is not always the same server that is good or not good for downloading. I close this thread. Thank you very much.
