Hi aws353

Are both McAfee and AVG8 up-to-date?

Hi Shaba,

AVG8 is up to date and is returning no infections after a full system scan. The last update and run was at 11:00 AM today. I just updated now (1:00 PM) and will try again. I also don't have McAfee, I signed up for the free trial on their website and downloaded the installer, but it wasn't working so i deleted the .exe file and went to redownload, but it said I didn't qualify for the free trial. Thanks for your help.

Then please see here (http://www.pchell.com/virus/uninstallmcafee.shtml) how to remove McAfee (Removing McAfee Automatically) and post back a fresh HijackThis log afterwards.

Hey, I've tried removing McAfee first through Add/Remove Programs. I did not get a black McAfee window like the website said I would, it simply popped up as a window with a progress bar. After it was finished, all McAfee software on the Add/Remove programs was no longer listed. However, MCTray.exe was still running in my processes. I downloaded the automatic removal tool to try and remove it, but even after ending MCTray.exe a window pops up saying "McAfee enterprise software detected. Can not continue. Please contact McAfee technical support."

On another note, after rebooting, AVG says that there are multiple threats to my computer, but when I click remove infections it says error, and then lists "File not found" many times.

Please then post a fresh HijackThis log :)
