There are several .scr files in my spybot folder, some have the icon of spybot, and some have the icon of the updater program, they are named random characters, these are the files listed in my spybot folder,

what are the .scr files and why are they in my spybot folder?

The .scr extension (screensaver) can be thought as a executable file. Spybot-Search&Destroy purposely puts a .scr file as a self-defense mechanism against malware that would disable Spybot and other anti-spyware programs from starting up.

There is nothing to worry about and this is normal (I have it too).

Thanks for the quick reply, I was starting to think something was making spybot like a worm and replicating it into screensaver files, well at least now i know there is no problem with spybot
