problems with ibm00005.exe

Hello,

Recently i have been having many problems with this ibm00005.exe file which is by no means friendly, i have done many spybot scans and it always find the terpig (i know i didn't spell it right) spyware and i tell it to remove it but i always get a 'Windows cannot find ibm00005.exe file is missing or corrupt' message at start up of windows, i know that this file is gone because i did a bitdefender scan and removed it! so how do i tell windows to stop looking for this file? Also i have been having issues with my web browsers (IE and Netscaoe) working extremely slow and quite often freezing accompanied by Explorer.exe crashing without rhyme or reason i have a file called winbrume.dll that i think may be one of the reasons but i am not completely sure...I run Windows ME i am embarrased to say but usually i can get it to work have decently for me. I have included a HJT log if that helps at all. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I just do not see the item you mention: IBM00005.EXE in your HJT log. However, I do see this trojan:
{196B9CB5-4C83-46F7-9B06-9672ECD9D99B} X BHO winbrume.dll Troj/Dropper-GS - a browser hijacker and downloader

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Enable hidden files&folders..reverse the process when finished.

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\GOZILLA\ >>> folder

C:\Program Files\WildTangent\ >>> folder

Start > Run > type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then ok. Allow the program to run until it is done, then remove what Windows suggests.

You have these two online scanners already installed in your Downloaded Program Files. Update them both if available and run a system scan. Post the results of the scans along with a new HJT log and any comments you think will help.
