Hi,
I am planning to sell e-books, music Cds online with the help of my own site. I have uploaded all the stuff on my site. I am worrying about payment transactions. I want to give all the payment methods to the customer which includes credit card, Visa card etc. Is there is any suggestions to securely run payment transaction on my site?

Though I have no experience in this myself, I think I'd trust the US government over most of the other pages I found in a quick online search:

US Department of Commerce - Minority Business Development Agency
Business Development - E-Commerce
http://www.mbda.gov/?section_id=5&bucket_id=125&bucket_jump=125&well=entire_page#bucket_125

I'd think their Getting Started page would be a good place to get an understanding of what you're planning to do:

Getting Started with Electronic Commerce
http://www.mbda.gov/?section_id=5&bucket_id=125&content_id=2503&well=entire_page

In any case, I'd be very careful at this stage, since there are many fly-by-night cheaters out there trying to get your and your customers money. Once you've chosen, I'd suggest checking them out via the Better Business Bureau or even your bank, who might even have a suggested list of reputable vendors themselves.

Hello,
A good question. Only few people are conscious about the payment transactions online. I would suggest you to get certified from Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to manage your payment system. This is actually a filtering system before customer payment process online as a result security increases. You can get detail information from here
