Hi All,

I am new to this forum but it was recommended by a friend.

Unfortunately my Laptop has become infected with the above little nasty and I cannot clear if off for some reason.

So I have two questions for you all: -

1. When I install Spybot Ver: 1.6.0.30, it installs without any problems but will not update. I am assuming that the nasty has highjacked my hosts list as the update attempts are being redirected to 127.0.0.1

Can anyone help me to sort this problem please.

2. Is it possible to download the up to date .dat files onto a pen/flash drive (on another machine) and then point the update process to this drive, if so how do I do this please.

Thanks in advance.

The Machine is a Toshiba Tecra A2 running XP Pro SP2 with 1.5 Gb of Ram, fully updated.

Firstly my apologies for not getting back to you a lot earlier.

Thank you very much for your help and for an excellent product.

Using a combination of Spybot and, dare I say it, Malwarebytes, I was able to completely eradicate all of the problems.

Many Many Thanks.
