Replace it about once monthly to keep it update
Still having problems with Spybot finding CMDservice ?
Are there any other problems
Thanks for all your help! I have replaced the host file and updated windows. The annoying pop up windows that were driving me mad seem to have disappeared. Spybot still finds cmdservice and can't remove it. I'm not sure what affect it is having though as the popups are gone. No other problems that I can see.

Please download and unzip Ren-cmdservice to your desktop.
It will only work correctly if the folder is placed on your desktop and extracted.
http://downloads.subratam.org/Lon/ren-cmdservice.zip
Open the ren-cmdservice folder by doubleclicking it and then doubleclick the
ren-cmdservice.bat file to run the program.
A text will open when it is finished, Post it please.
Then restart the PC run SpyBot check for and fix any problems found.
I would love to see another hijackthis after you visit windows update.
Here's my logit post, I'll post another hijackthis log shortly after I've restarted my pc , run spybot etc.

Spybot managed to remove the command service. This is my latest hijack this file. I'm unable to install the sp2 for windows , there seems to be a problem with my windows xp, I got the laptop secondhand so not sure what I can do about that.

If you cannot validate you should get a legit copy asap or you wil keep getting infected over and over again.
