Hi all,

I think that my system is infected with one or poss multiple trojans in the sys files....I think that possibly it is connected with a program called mhsta.exe.

Can someone please take a look at my hjt log here and point me in the right direction. Im a bit of a newbie so please be simplistic LOL!

Any help very gratefully recieved.

Cheers,

Frags

hi,

there is a mshta.exe in windows 2000 that resides in the system32 dir. You have xp and multiple instances of it. Your antivirus is up to date? check malwarebytes for updates then do a full scan and post the log;

* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt

please post the MBAM log in reply

you can also do a online scan here:

ESET online scanner:

http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/

uses Internet Explorer only
check "YES" to accept terms
click start button
allow the ActiveX component to install
click the start button. the Scanner will update.
check both "Remove found threats" and "Scan unwanted applications"
click scan
when done you can find the scan log at:C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
please copy/paste that log in next reply.
