I have a problem that I can't seem to get rid of. I have a program that is messing up IE. When I try to go to a page I sometimes get a yellow bar accross the top that says "The page you are looking for has been blocked by the adware on your PC. Remove it with Spy Trooper."

I followed the advice here to get rid of the little yellow blinking triangle that tells me I am infected, but this one won't go away.

This is the hijackthis log

I had rebooted in safe mode and ran smitRem and ewido. I had run Spybot search and destroy earlier. Everything seems gone except this one irritating bug. Thank you for your help.

I could provide more info if you need me too. I ran everything from scratch again last night. Rebooted in Safe Mode, ran smitrem, ewido and spybot search and destroy, but they don't find anything, but Internet explorer still gets hijacked to a place called www.systemupdate.com. It also seems to be on a short timer as to when it will stop letting you load a web page and give you the little yellow bar accross the top of a web page with the warning posted "The page you are looking for has been blocked by the adware on your PC. Remove it with Spy Trooper." It is the same kind of info bar that pops up when explorer blocks a pop-up or active-x window, except this one is over the webpage www.404dns.com which pretends to give a dns error.

Hope that helps, I will also rerun hijackthis in safe mode again to see if anything has changed.

thanks,
robert
