The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "TwainTech" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "{2CF0B992-5EEB-4143-99C0-5297EF71F444}" and pointing to "rundll32.exe <$SYSDIR>\STLBDIST.DLL".
Entries named "Bakra" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\IEHost.exe".
Entries named "Dsi" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\DP-HIM.EXE".
Entries named "RunWindowsUpdate" and pointing to "<$WINDIR>\UPTODATE.EXE".

Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$WINDIR>\PREINSTT.EXE".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\TWAINTEC.DLL".
The file at "<$WINDIR>\INF\TWAINTEC.INF".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\datastore.dll".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\master.dll".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\SearchBar.htm".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\Searchx.htm".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\stlbdist.DLL".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\stlbdist.XML".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\sub.dll".
The file at "<$SYSDIR>\terrabyte.exe".
The file at "c:\bdl14185.exe".
The file at "c:\couponsandoffers4.exe".
The file at "c:\ESB.exe".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If TwainTech uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry key "{000020DD-C72E-4113-AF77-DD56626C6C42}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "TwaintecDll.TwaintecDllObj.1", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "twaintec" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\".
If TwainTech uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
