I'm sorry guys *wipes tear* I have no idea where all this came from. I will try harder to be good from now on.

Okay, having not done spybot scans in quite a while, I did one to find: Alexa Related, undeletable Command Service (I had trouble with that while ago, I was told I have a few orphans left but I don't recall the undeletable-restart-with-spybot part), Windows.Active Desktop, ErrorGuard, Mailbot, Smitfraud-C, SpySheriff, Tibs.vq, and Torpig. While spybot seemed to have deleted most of them up, I'm a bit worried that they'll keep coming back.

This is my Hijack log after a spybot scan:

Umm... I have a question about where the spyware could've come from. Is it possible that I got it through the Folding@Home program I downloaded recently from the google betas? Or is that still quite secure? Or is it more likely that I got them from website pop-ups and so forth?

Hi jenny

I hear the folding home program is safe

Why havent you updated windows ?

Please do so , revisit windows update untill no crittical updates are available. always reboot when prompted, then post back with a spybot report and new hijackthis log.

Oh oops. Very sorry about my very worried post yesterday O_O. False alarm, I think. Ran another spybot today, it seems spybot did get all the problems after all -none of the spyware has reappeared- apart from the irremovable command service keys. But looking back at one of my previous posts, I realized that one of your experts (steamwiz) had already fixed that up, told me not to worry about it, mentioning that it was just "orphans in the registry". I just... umm.... forgot about it.... (having not run spybot for so long).

Umm.... oops? Lol. I think it is safe to say it is one less work for you guys to do ^_^. Thanks for the help anyway

No comments about windows updates ? :)

Please download and unzip Ren-cmdservice to your desktop.
It will only work correctly if the folder is placed on your desktop and extracted.
http://downloads.subratam.org/Lon/ren-cmdservice.zip
Open the ren-cmdservice folder by doubleclicking it and then doubleclick the
ren-cmdservice.bat file to run the program.
A text will open when it is finished, Post it please.
Then restart the PC run SpyBot check for and fix any problems found.

Windows updates? Ahaha. Ahahahahaha... *repeats monotonously*

*coughs* Anyways, here's (what I think) is the ren-cmdservice log:

Well good

I would love to see another hijackthis log after you go get all critical updates

jenny_1260
2006-05-14, 00:50
About the critical updates.... *pouts* Do I really have to? According to my dad, windows updates screw our computer up. Windows not at fault. It's just the XP my dad bought for us isn't what one would call the most original one, and windows know it too and the files they send wreck the computer. Is there a big difference between a XP that's updated and the ordinary XP? Does HiJack not work properly if the computer isn't updated?

Service pack 2 when first releast coused some minor problems on rare occasions, Its Not that way now. your PC will actualy run better.

If you dont update you will continue to get infected over and over again.

http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=25290&postcount=4

If you do not have a legitimate copy of Windows or do not keep your copy updated and patched; there is little point in cleaning a system that will be re-infected almost immediately.

I see... :( Well, I think I'll try to be careful for now -and start saving up money for proper XP!! Or at least, convince my dad to buy it for me ^_^. Thanks for your help with command service anyway ^_^

Im Glad we could help
Since the problems are solved Im going to close the topic now, this keeps others with similar problems from posting there logs/question here, they should start a new topic.
