View Full Version : Help--having problems with startup itself!

Dear Forum Helpers,

Have a big problem. Just got back from India and my computer is giving me grief. Had tons of spyware on it. Tried to clean it with spydoctor, but after running spydoctor and norton antivirus, I would start my computer, and each time, it would go to the logon screen (before it went to the welcome screen and then straight to the desktop). I would click "login" or "enter" and then I would get a message:

"Microsoft Visual Runtime C++ error" (or something like that)

Winlogon.exe--error

This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Contact your provider for details."

Then, it would restart the whole system. This happened 4-5 times.

Finally, I tried starting it in safe mode. To date I've run Norton Antivirus, Spydoctor, Spysweeper, Spybot, and many others.

Today, I ran Spybot, then Smitfraud, then Ewido, then Hijackthis. Here is my log file. Please help me! I want to be able to start my computer, not in safe mode, again! :(

Hi dearraman

Please download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=7) to your desktop.
Close all windows before continuing.
Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 1 minute. Click OK
When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
Your computer will then shutdown.
Turn your computer back on.
Please post the contents of Look2Me-Destroyer.txt (it can be found wherever you saved Look2Me-Destroyer.exe) and a new HiJackThis log.
If Look2Me-Destroyer does not reopen automatically, reboot and try again.
