Is there a portable version of Spybot S&D? I've done a search and have found versions on other websites, but not Safer Networking, so I am just being cautious.

Spybot-S&D is not as "fixed" to a location as other software is anyway, so after copying the folder ta another location, it would still run.

We've got the boot cd project (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=21313) to put it onto a CD - a portable version for repairs mostly. Or copy it to a USB stick...

Whoa, 1G!

OK, so are you saying I can copy the program from my system to my flash drive, and it will still work?

Not Spybot the program itself on your system, because it is not portable.

The Bootable CD by PepiMk works on a USB flash drive.

Sure the Spybot program itself!

Well, not the Internet Explorer plugin of course, and TeaTimer wouldn't run automatically, but otherwise it works fine.

:red: PepiMK, do you mean the .exe installer for Spybot-SD (spybotsd160.exe)? Cause I sorta thought for a second, you mean like drag the Program Folders etc. (yeah I was a bit crazy in the afternoon ).

Hmm, ok thanks, I'll try it.

No drragostea, I meant the program folder!

I'm used to the comfort of dragging app folders wherever I want without bad consequences, so I try to keep that possible on Windows as much as possible.

Just stuff like the Internet Explorer plugin that depends on paths in the registry will not be updated, but to use a copy of the installed files as an on-demand scanner works just fine.

This is thread is resolved... er, this portable Spybot is kind of confusing me. So how does Spybot run if it's Program File is just sitting there? :red:
