Help! I can't use the internet at all! Every time I turn on the computer, I get an endless stream of unwanted popups- advertisements, fake antivirus ads, etc. Spybot detected that Microsoft Windows Security Center is disabled, and 1 entry of Right Media, 1 entry of Smitfrad-C, 4 entries of Virtumonde, 3 Virtumonde.generic, 1 Virtumonde.sci, and 1 WebTrends.live

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html)
Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Hi, was going through the process for ComboFix, and it gave a message stating that it needed to reboot and to note the following:

After the computer shutdown, it rebooted to the point that I could see my wallpaper, but no icons. I waited over an hour, and nothing happened. Turned it off and back on, and it hung at the same spot. I turned off my wireless router so it couldn't try to connect to the internet, and it loaded into XP. However, my background had been changed out to a giant flashing image informing me that my computer was infected. There were several popup messages telling me that something had been changed in my sytem folder and I needed to restart the computer. I couldn't open task manager because it "was disabled by my administrator"... The computer then froze so I had to turn it off.

Now when I try to turn it on, it gets to the "welcome" screen, plays the login chime, shows my wallpaper for half a second, sends me back to the welcome screen, and says it is saving settings and logging off. There appears to be no way back in.
