Hello I am new and I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong forum.

I have been trying to download a coupon printer for about 2 weeks now. I'm am beyond frustrated. I have used this same printer for years with no problems. When I recently upgraded my computer, the printer accidently got uninstalled.

SO my problem is everytime I start the download, I click 'next' and I get a box with a red x and the word irsetup. I have tried everything. I have updated my virus software thinking it was a virus. I have disabled spybot to try and get around it. I have done numerous searches about irsetup where I was told it was a trojan to another place where I was told it a tool for Indigo Rose to help downloads.

I'm confused, frustrated and I just want to print my coupons. Is there someone who can help me??? Please???

Yes that is the place. They use that software to print coupons from various sites, mostly 'Brick's' coupons.

Hello MissyStuy, :)

When I recently upgraded my computer,
What was the upgrade and which browser/s are you using?

Makers of the software at coupons.com, which I critique here: http://www.benedelman.org/news/082807-1.html

I upgraded from IE6 to 7 and also added Firefox as I was still having trouble with some sites with IE7. After I upgraded to IE7, I was having trouble with the coupon printer so I uninstalled it and was going to just reinstall it, but I can't. I have trouble with both browsers and the coupon printer. I thought maybe it was spybot that prohibiting the download, as I have done everything coupons.com has told me to do, and my virus software has pretty much caught everything else.

I have already downloaded the smartsource coupon printer with no issues.

I'm afraid its all greek to me, I have no idea what those links mean. I try my best to pretend I'm a great savvy computer user, but I'm really not very good with the technical stuff. I read the links that say I might have not really totally uninstalled the printer. Is that what is causing this problem? How do I get around that?

Hello MissyStuy,

I'm afraid its all greek to me, I have no idea what those links mean.

The articles are investigative reports about company practices.

I thought maybe it was spybot that prohibiting the download, as I have done everything coupons.com has told me to do, and my virus software has pretty much caught everything else.

What exactly did they tell you to do?

Best regards.

Well they havn't actually told me what to do, but I have followed all thier 'troubleshooting' advice an nothing works. I have emailed them, I'm waiting for a response, havn't gotten one as of yet.

I have an older laptop with the coupon printer already installed, I think I'll have to switch to that one to print coupons till it dies.

Thank so much for trying to help me.

Hi there,

Customizing security settings in Internet Explorer 7 (http://www.heise-online.co.uk/security/services/browsercheck/adapt/ie70/)

You could also take a look at your HOSTS File just to see if any of the product's urls are blocked. Hosts File FAQ (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hostsfaq.htm)

Please read the entire Faq and don't make edits to the Hosts file if you don't know what you are doing.

In the event you can not access a site and you believe it may be due to an entry in the HOSTS file.
Check the URL first! It may be taking you to somewhere you don't want to go!Best regards. :)

Hi,

I just had the bad luck of installing this because GE Lighting (of all companies) used them to distribute coupons.

The thing is definitely still not doing a clean uninstall.

I had to uninstall it via Macecraft's JV16.org Registry Tool (uninstaller, then searching for all references to coupon and deleting those registry keys).

IMHO, Spybot should place this SW on the spyware list (optional for user to whitelist it).

Here is the latest discussion from Harvard Professor Edleman's discussion on it:

http://www.benedelman.org/news/031808-1.html

Beware as many companies like GE are using it for products like Scott Paper towels, Huggies diapers, etc.
